Starting with the World’s Best Gin we will run through a range of styles to suit any palate, partnered with the cocktails history and some home bartending tips to make you rival your local bar.

- Lustau Rose Vermouth

About your instructor
Bar consultant and spirits expert Ross Bryant took on the enviable job of No.3 Brand Ambassador in 2020.
Ross started out in the bar and restaurant trade at just 16, working as a kitchen porter, but it was a move to the front of house that changed everything for him. As a waiter, Ross loved the buzz he got from customers. Over the next few years, he honed his management skills and learned a huge amount about the industry before planning a move to Edinburgh in 2013.
Ross’s next venture was in the fine-dining world. Working in a very formal triple-rosette restaurant was a totally new experience for him and, although he loved what he was doing, it wasn’t long before a nearby Tiki bar turned his head.
This hidden gem of a bar was the perfect training ground for Ross to learn about spirits, cocktail making and – above all else – how to create an experience that his customers would love. Ross discovered he had a flair not just for mixing drinks, but for inventing them too. It was here that Ross realised that he wanted to run his own bar. He took some time to refine his skills at another Edinburgh hotspot, before he began planning his bar in earnest.
Like anyone who takes cocktail-drinking seriously, Ross headed to New York to thoroughly research the city’s best hotspots. Inspired by the newly fashionable speakeasy-style bars, Ross – along with a friend and business partner – set about opening their own venue back in Edinburgh. Tucked away in a discreet location, Bryant & Mack Private Detectives was born. The bar quickly earned a fantastic reputation for its drinks.
With the successful launch of Bryant & Mack behind him, Ross looked for his next project. Working with the World’s Best Gin – and taking its story across the world – was the perfect fit. In 2020 he joined No.3 Gin as the Brand Ambassador – and has been spreading the word ever since.
